I finished the NaNoWriMo challenge of 50k words in 30 days (I did in 22) yesterday and I am pretty impressed with the outcome. The story is very strange as well as the new title--Hydrangeas on the Lanai. I can't take 100% credit for the title. Thanks to John Tuff for the idea, even though I didn't use your suggestion, which was something to do with daises in a can or the likes. A special shout out to the great people at Castle Marne for the use of their castle for my cover. Now the challenge isn't over for me, the daunting task of revisions stands at my door.
What is Hydrangeas on the Lanai?
It is a parody of sorts of Gothic Romances. Tons of strange things happen in the story starting from page one. You will find surprises galore. The story is about Alexis Bardeaux who has just suffered the loss of her husband in the near past, in addition to both of her parents--all of which are mysterious circumstances. Her childhood friend, Gabe Parsons, invites her back to Parsons Manor, where she lived for the first thirteen years of her life.
Well I don't want to be a spoiler, so you will have to wait until Hydrangeas on the Lanai is published. The first six chapters are available to read for free at NaNoWriMo.org.
